About Me
I grew up in a village in Snowdonia, North Wales and consider myself quite fortunate to have grown up in its beautiful surroundings. Growing up in its landscape in a Welsh speaking community and culture has also formed part of my identity and sense of self of who I am today.

I have always been drawn to, and loved working with people, where my main motivation lies in supporting people with their health and wellbeing. I have worked in the health sector for over 30 years in clinical and managerial positions and have really enjoyed the experiences this has brought me.
My career initially started in the NHS in a clinical role in the operating theatres where my main duties was in Recovery, bringing the patient to a safe and pain free recovery following surgery, administering any necessary drugs and monitoring the patient's progress to recover safely. A large part of the role also involved listening to patients and families’ anxieties and concerns pre- and post-surgery. This sparked my interest in therapy and I embarked on a counselling course to develop my skills at work but also to explore as a career going forward.
A few years later, my career took a different direction, where my roles and experience were more focused on Organisational Change, working in a corporate healthcare consultancy and also within the NHS. However, the pull to pursue a career in psychotherapy never went away, but life experiences including adoption and other work/personal commitments meant I had to put this on hold until a few years ago where I decided it was the right time and have not looked back since.
Whilst it’s taken longer for me to get here, I believe my life and work experiences I have gained over the years since that initial draw to the profession, has also made me a better therapist and enhanced what I offer clients from a relational perspective.
In addition to my Psychotherapy practice, I work as a Director of Transformation for a large NHS hospital organisation focussed on organisational change. I have an MSc in Public Health from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine focussing on Mental health, Epidemiology and Health Systems.

I live in South Manchester with my partner and our two amazing adopted children. Outside of work I enjoy travelling, music, and cooking.

As part of my ethical practice, I am in regular clinical supervision and also personal therapy.
